The
CCB-Programme aims to:
- strengthen and coordinate multi-disciplinary climate change research at Wageningen-UR in the fields of fundamental, applied and policy-oriented climate change research;
- serve as a focal point for policy makers, non-governmental
organisations, research institutes, entreprises and others seeking information and advice on biospheric aspects of climate impact assessment;
- strengthen application and operationalisation of expert knowledge of Wageningen-UR on climate change issues within policy and management.;
- enhance expert-input from Wageningen URin national and
international climate research programmes (notably IGBP) and policy assessments (IPCC);
- stimulate cooperation with other national and international
research organisations in the field of biospheric aspects of climate change;
- contribute to the translation and dissemination of research
results into education and training programmes;
- facilitate communication of research results by organising joint
workshops, symposia and other means of information-exchange such as publications and
newsletters.
CCB Wageningen UR is a platform embedded within five departments/knowledge units of Wageningen-UR:

CCB Wageningen UR is the formalisation
of a long-time collaboration of institutes witinh Wageningen UR in the field of biospheric aspects of climate change.
Involved partners have been active on this issue since 1988, and together they
invest over 65 man-years on a broad range of topics in both natural and socio-economic
sciences. The following organisations of Wageningen UR particpate in CCB Wageningen-UR: Wageningen Institute for Environment and Climate Research (WIMEK),
Production Ecology & Resource Conservation Graduate School (PE & RC), Alterra,
Plant Research International, Agrotechnology and Food Innovations and the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (LEI).
Climate change is one of the 9 leading themes, around which a future collaborative and organisational framework of Wageningen UR will be developed.
